BSP carried out hundreds of conservation activities in many countries including 75% of the countries where USAID works. BSP had six programs forming the framework for its projects around the world.

The Programs were: Africa and Madagascar Program (Africa); Asia and the Pacific Program (Asia); Eastern Europe Program (E. Europe); Latin America and the Caribbean Program (LAC); Analysis and Adaptive Management Program (AAM); and Biodiversity Conservation Network (BCN).
