Justification of Ecoregion Delineation
Montane areas in Kamchatka are mostly located in the central and eastern parts of the peninusla. Mapped ecoregion boundaries correspond to the montane tundra in the Kurile-Kamchatka vegetation province in Kurnaev’s (1990) forest map of the USSR.
